Joseph Malek Arop,
Deputy Minister,
Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
Joseph Malek Arop graduated from University of Juba, College of Economics and Social Studies, (BSc) Bachelor of Science, Accounting & Financial Management in the year 2003. He is also pursuing Bachelor of Law, University of El-Nileen, College of Law.
From 2003 to 2005, he worked for Petroleum Company in Sudan (Higlig), and later on joined Petrodar Operation Company up to 2010. From 2010 to 2014, he served as a State Minister in two different Ministries namely: Ministry of Public Service and Ministry of Cooperative and Rural Development in Warrap State.
He was a Member of the Negotiating Team of Peace Talk in Addis Ababa on the Government Side (GRSS) from 2014 to 2018 and he became the Deputy Head of Governance and Legal Affairs in the National Pre-Transitional Committee (NPTC) up to 2020.
In 2020, he was appointed by H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan as the Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and also as a Member of the Reconstituted Transitional National Legislative Assembly.
Currently, he is serving as the Deputy Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Republic of South Sudan and Chairperson of USAP-National Agenda.
The vision of the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional (MoJCA) is “To lay and build a strong foundation for a united, peaceful and prosperous South Sudan based on Justice, equality, respect for human rights and supremacy of the rule of Law.”
