Dr. Gabriel Isaac Awow

Gabriel Isaac Awow Graduated from El-Nileen University in Khartoum-Sudan with a Bachelor of Law in 1994. He also holds a Masters and a Doctorate of Public Law from the University of Juba.

In 1983, he worked in the Taxation Department in Upper Nile State until he reached a position of Senior Inspector in year 1994.

In 1995, he became as an Advocate in Kosti-Sudan. From 1996-2007, he was appointed in the Ministry of Justice of Sudan as a Legal Counsel. During the Interim Period, he was appointed as Senior Legal Counsel, in the Ministry of Legal Affairs and Constitutional Development (Government of Southern Sudan). He is also a Researcher and an Author of a book titled (South Sudan Peace Agreements) Published in the year 2009.

He was promoted in 2017 from Senior Legal Counsel to Counsel General in the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs. He serves as the Deputy Prosecutor General, Legal Advisor (National Audit Chamber), Head of Legal Administration (Ministry of Trade, industry and Commerce), Head of Legal Administration (Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning), Deputy Advocate General,  Head of Administration and Finance, Head of Legal Administration (Bank of South Sudan), Chief Registrar of Companies.

He was assigned as the Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and Chairperson of the Taskforce in the Ministry, In-Charge of Chapter I, V and VI of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in the Republic of South Sudan (R-ARCSS).

On 17th July, 2023, he was appointed by H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic of South Sudan as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
